Singapore · The easiest long-haul you'll ever do

Singapore, minus the tourist script.

Hawker stalls that matter, a hotel bar with a view, Gardens by the Bay at the right hour. Five days is plenty — and we'll show you how to spend them.

Know before you go

Singapore, briefly.

Visa

Australians get 90 days visa-free on arrival. SG Arrival Card online 72 hrs before — we'll send the link.

Best time

There isn't a bad month, really. Feb–Apr and Jul are driest. Dec–Jan is wetter but cooler. Avoid F1 weekend (Sept) unless that's the point.

Money

SGD. Tap-to-pay works everywhere including hawker centres. You barely need cash beyond $50 for tips & taxis.

Getting around

MRT is world-class. Grab for late-night. Changi to the city is $40 SGD by taxi or 30 min on the MRT.

Laws to know

No jaywalking, no vaping (illegal — serious), no chewing gum imports, no durian on public transport. We're not kidding.

Tipping

Not expected. 10% service charge is already on the bill at most restaurants. Round up taxis if you like.

★★★★★

"Four-night long weekend, two of us, end of financial year escape. PARKROYAL with the infinity pool was perfect. The hawker walk was the highlight — places we'd never have found."

Megan K. · Bondi NSW
★★★★★

"Did Singapore + Legoland with 2 kids. The private coach between SIN and Johor was the single best $180 we spent — would've been a nightmare otherwise. Kids still talking about Universal."

Tim W. · Subiaco WA
★★★★★

"F1 trip — grandstand seats were bang on, and the hotel was genuinely 5 min walk to the pit straight. Paid a bit more than DIY but worth every cent not dealing with logistics."

Singapore FAQs

Common questions.

Is 5 nights enough?

For most travellers, yes. Singapore rewards a focused 3–5 nights. More than 6 and most travellers start looking for a beach — which is why we often pair it with Bintan, Bali, or Phuket.

Where should we stay?

Marina Bay for the postcard. Orchard for shopping. Tiong Bahru or Chinatown for character. Sentosa for beach access with kids. We'll match based on your trip.

Is it really as expensive as everyone says?

Hotels and cocktails — yes, premium. Food — remarkably not: a world-class hawker meal is $5 SGD. Our packages are priced accordingly.

Can we combine Singapore with Malaysia?

Yes, and it's genius. 30-min flight to KL or 4-hr private car to Legoland. Our Singapore + Malaysia combo is our #1 family booking.

Is Changi really that good?

Yes. Jewel, the indoor waterfall, butterfly garden. Build in 2 extra hours before your return flight — we'll tell you where to eat.

Do we need to pre-book attractions?

For Gardens by the Bay, Universal Studios, and F1 — yes, and we do it. For hawker centres and street markets — absolutely not.
